Description: At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to: Describe an organizational method to evaluate rhythm strips Describe diagnostic criteria for the following common arrhythmias: NSR, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, AV blocks, PAT, and ventricular tachycardia/fibrillation Differentiate between atrial flutter, PAT, and atrial fibrillation differentiate between the AV blocks Identify unknown rhythm abnormalities on rhythm strips
The Basic Arrhythmia Workshop is designed to help students understand the basic principles of rhythm generation, and five basic components of rhythm description which allow for categorization. Emphasis is placed on the reason for the appearance of the normal EKG, so that students can recognize and understand EKG patterns associated with common cardiac rhythm disorders.
