Description: At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
Identify common skin lesions and the appropriate removal technique for each
Demonstrate sharp surgical excision; demonstrate punch biopsy techniques
Demonstrate cryotherapy and electrocauterization techniques
Describe patient education for appropriate care of biopsied areas

Participants attending this four hour workshop will review multiple clinical presentations of common skin lesions to include common skin cancers. The second half of the workshop will be dedicated to hands-on skills. Utilizing pigs’ foot models, participants will master punch biopsy, cryosurgery, electrodessication, shave biopsy, excisional biopsy and suturing skills.
