Description: At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to: List three new cardiac drugs and their potential use Discuss the indications for hypothermia in cardiac arrest patients Explain the problems associated with the use of nesiritide.
Medical practitioners need to be aware of new pharmacologic agents as they become available. This lecture will discuss some of the newer cardiac agents or therapies, including hypothermia, ibutilide and nesiritide.
