The number of children participating in sports activity is continuing to increase. Sports specialization and the aggressive culture of organized youth sports can be contributing factors in the increase of overuse injuries seen in the pediatric population. Sports medicine professionals need to be aware of the physical and psychological consequences of sports injury. This session will present several case studies relating to pediatric sports medicine, from presentation to follow-up care.
