Description: At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:
Discuss the current state of the art in diagnosis of stroke and TIA
Discuss the pros and cons of various therapies for stroke and TIA
Plan the work-up of a TIA patient

Transient ischemic attacks are becoming more common in the country. The diagnosis is often complicated and extremely subtle. The natural course of TIAs is, however, often serious and needs prompt attention. There are medically and surgically correctable causes of TIAs, which need to be addressed. Secondly, the patient and the patient’s family need to be properly prepared as to what the future holds for TIA patients.
