Early recognition and ultimately, prevention of child abuse is paramount to ensure a safe outlook for these children. In this presentation, participants will receive information concerning child abuse including, but not limited to, the scope of the problem, the types of abuse, the reasons children do not disclose abuse and the presence of so-called hidden signs of child abuse. Additionally, the presenter will briefly relate his personal history of abuse and why he too was silent.
