Date: 5/28/2006
Time:2:00 PM to 2:45 PM

Description: At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:
List the factors that increase a patient’s risk of arterial and venous thrombosis
Explain the clotting cascade as it relates to coagulation disorders
Explain the coagulation assays that are used to evaluate clotting disorders

This session will discuss the known venous prothrombotic defects, the incidence of thrombosis associated with them, their contribution to complications of pregnancy and ways to prevent those complications and their role in predicting for recurrent thrombosis in patients who've had DVT or PE.
